Cllr Nathan Desmond, has a long history of political involvement within Kidderminster. First elected to Wyre Forest District Council in 2002 and served as Cabinet Member on WFDC from 2004 to 2019.
Nathan was elected to the Worcestershire County Council to represent the St Marys division in 2009 and has represented the division ever since. He is currently the chairman of Audit and Governance Committee on both WFDC and Worcestershire County Council.
Nathan lives in Kidderminster on the Spennells estate, is married with three children, and runs the family industrial flooring business, based in Hoobrook.
Nathan has achieved many positive improvements as a councillor, just over the last four years his achievements include delivering the following for local residents:
• Campaigned successfully for a £3.2m capital investment to redevelop Hoobrook Island to reduce congestion
• Pavements completely resurfaced in Hoo Road, Beauchamp Avenue, Blount Terrace, Northumberland Avenue, Stourport Road and Sutton Park Road
• Installed Speed Activated Signs to slow drivers down on Silverwoods Way, Wilden Lane, Hoo Road, Sutton Park Road and Walter Nash Road
• New road surfaces laid in Blount Terrace and Larches Road
• Campaigned successfully for a £250k new pelican pedestrian crossing to be installed on Sutton Road
• New double yellow lines installed in Beauchamp Avenue, Clensmore Street and Spring Grove Road
