Further to Dan's regular divisional onsite meeting with Highway officers today, which was specifically looking at our rural roads, Dan's feedback is as follows:
A couple of key updates:
Following concerns raised by residents, I have asked for some Horse and Rider signs to be installed along the Kinlet Road, where there are many Bridleway's, to help make drivers aware. I have also asked for speed data to be captured here to understand if any further signage would benefit drivers and other road users.
I have also reported the damaged sign on the corner of Ranters Bank.
The surface and flooding issues on the Dowles Road are in the Shropshire boundary but desperately need attention. Dan has written to the County Councillor who has this in their division and also the Cabinet Members for Highways at both Worcestershire and Shropshire County Council requesting a joint site visit to agree how we get this resolved. As well as speaking directly with their County Councillor this evening who has informed Dan that the flood is a blocked culvert that will be sorted as soon as possible.
Dan and the Officer also looked at further flooding and drainage issues on Station Road in Pound Green. Dan has requested that the drains are cleared with the surrounds dug out to prevent further blockages, a culvert to be surveyed and cleared and also for an edge of carriageway way scheme to be looked at to build the road back out where it has badly degraded.
