The works to Beales Corner by Severn Trent are complete and the full road closure was reopened a week earlier than expected with the main flood defence works now starting for an anticipated 18-22 months. We were also pleased to be told that a further £3million of Government support has been agreed to ensure these works are completed to the specification we all want and need.

During this time the traffic flow over the bridge will be one-way and following on from discussions with traders and residents, Cllrs Dan Morehead and Ian Hardiman have ensured that this flow will be from Wribbenhall into Bewdley and therefore effectively keeping Bewdley open from both sides of the river. We will continue to work with traders over the coming months and support wherever we can.
