WFCA Annual Dinner 2010
The annual dinner of Wyre Forest Conservative Association will be held on Friday 26th November when the guest speakers will be Mark Garnier MP and David Lidington MP, Minister of State with responsbility for Europe and NATO. Please phone 01562 823820 for further details and to book your place.
 Introducing David Lidington MP
He was elected as MP for Aylesbury in 1992. In 1994, he successfully promoted a Private Members Bill which became the Chiropractors Act 1994. He has served on the front benches of the party for 16 years and was one of the few shadow cabinet ministers left in his old post by David Cameron when he became leader in December 2005.
Following the 2010 General Election he was appointed a Minister of State at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, with responsibility for Europe and NATO. If Mr Cameron reshuffles his cabinet during this parliament, his vast experience will surely make him the top contender for Foreign Secretary.
Outside of politics he is married and father to four children. He has an honours degree in History and a Doctorate in Elizabethan History from Cambridge. He was the captain of the Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge team that won the 1978 series of University Challenge. He is said to enjoy a good sing along and is a member of the Parliamentary Choral Society.
